Self-tracking

Self-tracking Project 2. Self-tracking as a vehicle for personal change (Lasse Meinert Jensen)

”Self-tracking” are practices where a person ongoingly measures one of more aspects about his or her body, mind, or activities, through the use of tools for collecting data. In psychology, such ongoing measurements are often termed “self-monitoring”. This project looks at self-tracking in smartphone applications, and seeks to shed light on how such tools are handled in everyday life, as well as which personal standards that can be created this way. The empirical study is carried out in cooperation with the “Minvej”-project in Copenhagen, a social psychiatry intervention where mental health system users are issued smartphones with a recovery-oriented self-monitoring app.
